A little long but worth the read, an article about the US team members. Here.

Streaming live (starting early due to Kiev time being GMT+2h, so ca. 08.00) on 14th April are the Men's Team Epee events.  These are for the sports not making the Olympics.  Chance to see excellent world class epee in action, here.

With the warm weather kicked into touch and a big chill settling in, sit in front of the fire with your iPad or laptop and watch live streaming from Moscow (equally cold), here.  Good ladies foil this morning.

Big thanks to Jenny Morris (PSFC) for organising the last weekends activities. Both the epee and sabre development days with Richard Bonehill (Truro FC) were very valuable.  The bouting, Q drills and coaching tips were excellent.

As a club we have resisted this in the past but are now bowing to the lack of enthusiasm for these dates, I am talking about half-terms !

Easter: we have cancelled the Thursday before Good Friday, so no Fencing 5/6 April and Thur 12 Apr, but leaving Friday 13 April intact.

Summer: half term is 4-8 June, so on past performance we are deleting Thurs 7 June, but leaving the Friday intact.

End of Term: is 20 July, so we are keeping Friday 27 July, but not Thurs 26 July, then closing until Friday 7 Sept.

The Navy Lark ! 05/02/2012

Thanks to the RNAFA at HMS Temeraire for inviting us down yesterday.  CCFC put up a foil and two epee teams.  The RN kept us fencing all day.  Clubs from Winchester, Portsmouth and Southsea and the RN and RM gave us a run for our money. I must say that the stars of the day were Catherine, Joe and Jethro who fought above and beyond the call of duty. That is not to belittle any of our representatives who gave there all. A great day was had by all in a really friendly local club atmosphere. Three cheers for the RN, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray! Photos here.

Our resident photographer, Chris, has also set up a photobucket set here.

I'd like to give a quick thank you out to Dave and Josias who both donated their electric foils to the club this session.  Dave got his trusty foil out of the loft and spruced it up for one of our newer younger members who much prefers a french grip foil.  Josias retired his foil knowing that epee and sabre were the thing for him.  Cheers guys.

Feeling proud ! 18/12/2011

I have just come back from an excellent  Sussex Fencing / EF sponsored refereeing course lead by Peter Huggins and hosted by Angela Goodall at the University of Sussex.  The club now has a BFA qualified referee in Foil, Epee and Sabre!! Yay us!  Lee
