Congratulations to our new coaches Frank Scott and Lee Banting who qualified at the beginning of July, this means that the club now had four fully qualified fencing coaches with two more in training. Lee and Frank qualified by taking part in CCFC’s Coach Bursary Scheme by which we offer to pay for coach education in return for a years service to the Club. Click here to find out more about this exciting scheme.
Frank and Lee took their examinations on the 29th June at the Souther Region Development Day in Aldershot, Southern Region put on a fantastic day’s activities at Browning Barracks. The morning was spent with Mr Bela Patocs and Mr Akos Patocs, two fantastic Hungarian Fencing Coaches, putting them through their paces with fitness and frenzied footwork exercises. The afternoon culminated in the examination of all Steve Davys pupils (including Frank and Lee) and the result of all the trainee Level 1 coaches passing. Well done Steve! Thanks to Peter Huggins (and all the fencers) for the examining and Rochelle Dazeley for the excellent organization.
