This page commemorates Francois's legacy to the club. As a founder member he was heavily involved in forming the fundamental nature of our fencing club as one promoting and fostering sportsmanship.
We have decided to create a club award in his memory, the Francois Pelet Memorial Award. We thought that this could be awarded annually to a person involved with the club in any manner, fencer, family member, committee member, coach etc., who has done something over the year that has contributed, and that has gone unrecognized.
We are looking for some wording to go on the award so far we have
"Dedication to fencing"
"Being there for others"
Friday's session (7th February 2014) was the first presentation of the Francois Pelet Cup (and medals) set up to honour him (see below), recipients Richard and Chris for being stalwart supporters of the club.

A swift, clean stroke of power that cuts the air,
reaching its mark.
accuracy of aim, attention to the smallest point...
The holding of nerve over reckless abandonment.
A heartbeat between the moment of decision and action;
A heartbeat between life and death;
A pulse between before and after...
Between a life honourably lived and the glorious unknown.
(Jo Bulis, May 2012)
