Child Protection Policy

If any Club officer, volunteer or coach has any concerns with regard to the behaviour of any adult towards a young person whilst connected with fencing (wherever it might be) these concerns are to be shared with the Club committee.

The Club must act in a unified way and must pass on any concerns to British Fencing’s Child Protection Officer. This is a requirement of the Club’s affiliation to the British Fencing Association.

In accordance with BFA guidelines if a child says something to a Club officer volunteer or coach that raises concern the incident is to be recorded on an incident form (sample on next page). This form must then be confidentially passed on to the Child Protection Officer at British Fencing who can be contacted in the following ways:

  • Child Protection Officer, British Fencing, 1 Baron’s Court, 33 Rothschild Road, London W4 5HT
  • Telephone: 0208 742 3032
  • Email: Ismaycowen@aol.com

The Club committee requests all members (or a parent/guardian if under 18) to have read this Child Protection Policy upon application for membership.

To report an incident please download the form below.
