All ages and abilities welcome at every session. Sessions are charged
at £3.50 for members and £4 for non-members. For directions to our venue

Fencing is a diverse sport with a rich history. It also uses terminology based around words from foreign languages, sometimes even old dialiects of foreign languages, learning all the phrases used and their meanings is essential for a better understanding of the sport. It's also worth knowing a bit about the history of the sport as well, hopefully some of the resources below will help you to broaden your understanding of modern fencing and its origins. French-English Glossary - This is fairly extensive and also useful because definitions are clearly explaned. Translations of French fencing terms are also provided.
