Sportsmanship First and Bishop Luffa School

SF and CCFC are entering into a new relationship with Bishop Luffa school for the 2012-2013 season and hopefully into the future.  Steve Crossley is to deliver a new SF syllabus within the curriculum via the vehicle of the sport of fencing.  The principles of SF will be inculcated in the delivery of the Grade1 foil course.  Students successful at the school will then attend CCFC sessions for their examinations and will be offered lessons at a discounted price (50% membership session fees) for the achievement of their Grade 2 qualification.

Sportsmanship First

Chichester Community Fencing Club proudly supports the 'Sportsmanship First' campaign. We have all been told it is the ‘taking part that counts’, however the explanation as to ‘why’ is seldom explained. Sportsmanship First is a new initiative which through its workshops helps children and adults to fully understand the greater psychological benefits for society if every competitor, regardless of ability, is empowered with the confidence to offer simple encouragement and praise to each other. This year Sportsmanship First is directly working with Chichester District Council and West Sussex West Schools Sports Partnership in hosting the ‘Chichester Gold Mini Games’ on the 29th June 2010 - find out more about the initiative by visiting www.sportsmanshipfirst.org.
